The general concept of the card game is to be handed cards totaling up to 21. Every player is given 2 cards. When a black jack player is dealt a 9 or lower value card and an Ace they’ve been handed a soft hand. When the blackjack player receives no Ace it is known as a hard hand. Once the cards have been handed to every player at the blackjack table, including the dealer, every black jack player is provided the chance to make one of 6 choices:
Requesting another card (Hit): When a blackjack player says "hit" the croupier will give them another card, if the addition of that card causes the total greater than twenty-one the gambler will have busted and be excluded from the game, if the card pushes the total to 21 the blackjack player will be the winner and if the total hasn’t yet reached 21 they’re still in the game.
Keeping the hand you have been dealt: If a black jack player is satisfied with the hand they’ll hold. Once this has happened the dealer will disclose his or her hand and the player who has accumulated twenty one or the closet to twenty one will come away with a win.
Doubling Down: A gambler may request to double down which doubles the wager they have laid. As soon as you have taken this action you can only receive 1 additional card. The specifics of doubling down are often out lined by the table or betting house game rules so before wagering make sure you are at ease with the house established rules. If you are wagering at a net betting house this is usually quite easy.
